Back to an art blog C:

So I decided just to stick with art on this blog. Idohave a personal blog where I post all my natureish pictures and use my online name, but I wanted my art to be separate from that.

If you’re interested in following my goldfishy/natureish and personal posts over to there, just message me and I’ll privately reply with the link x3

I’m not going to delete all my personal posts, but I’ll only be posting art here from now on.

Do you recognize this symbol? If so…. please tell me! No one in my family knows what it is.
When my grandmother died a few years ago, she left me all her particularly meaningful jewelry that wasn’t of monetary value, so I know it is representative of something. The issue is….. no one knows what! I’ve tried looking up symbols online… but it is kinda tough when I don’t even know how to describe it. I do have a few clues though —
—My grandma came from a long line of Catholics and other jewelry I got included hand-made necklaces out of old rosary beads that were broken. I’ve asked a few catholic folks (since it does look kinda like a weird cross) but they don’t recognize it and said it was specifically different enough that it might have some other symbolism. Does it just look like a stylized cross?
—She was VERY irish in heritage — she and my grandfather (a hard-core Scottish man) traveled to Ireland and Scotland multiple times and were involved in clan meetings and such. Forbes clan to be specific. Her mother was from Ireland but moved here and became a flapper, and my grandma was left to be raised by her aunts. I have inherited old lockets from my great-great grandmother, so it is plausible that it could be pretty old.
—She had several Native American friends she visited and I got a few NA-made pieces from her.
—She also traveled to other places with my grandfather that included Egypt. I actually inherited a scarab beetle-themed bracelet from her as well, so it could be a souvenir with Egyptian background.
—finally, she was…. odd. She used to wear Christmas ornaments as jewelry sometimes too. So this could just as well be an old modified belt buckle based off some company logo.
I was really curious when I first got it, but after the funeral it broke from being worn so much by her that it literally was worn through… but after these years my dad finally found the pieces and put it back together for me, hence me wanting to figure out this mystery again xD
Any knowledge you have would be helpful. I tagged this ‘pagan’ also because I know a lot of pagans know of Egyptian and Celtic symbols….. anyway.
Thanks for any help!
So any ideas?

After a lot of convincing, I decided to give goldfish-raising another go after my dearest Sushi died of the ich he had D: he was sick when we got him but I hoped with medicine he could pull through…. but alas :C

Anyway…

Meet Ophelia and Midas! I only meant to get Ophie but Midas was sort of a ‘gift’ from mum who was going to get rid of him otherwise. They’re healthy and on a diet of garlic flakes twice a week to prevent things like ich >.< these will be the most spoiled goldfish I can take care of without an actual pond. They’ll get a 72-gallon whenever I leave college C:

Hi, I happened to come across your short story while browsing tags, and I wanted to tell you that it is brilliant! I love it! You are a very good writer. :)

Oh, wow — thanks a bunch! It really means a lot to me C:

So I had to write a short story for class…

And it was described in workshop as “gruesomely disturbing but creepily satisfying in the end.” I’ll count that as a win, muahaha.

I’ll post it below if you wanna read c: Feel free to critique it! I haven’t edited it at all, and it’s only the second one I’ve ever written.

NOTE: It would probably be easier for you to just copy/paste it into a Word .doc so you could see it better. Tumblr kinda screws up the formatting.

Awesome game. the plot-lines of the Mystery Dungeon series are so fantastic! I don’t cry in video games/movies but if I did I’d have cried for Red/Blue and Time/Darkness ;^;

And this art is amazing ouo

So is it just me or…

in Pokemon BW2, in Elesa’s gym, once you’ve beaten all the trainers and are ready to face her… the background song is an overlay of a song by Utada Hikaru? D: I recognized the ‘oh’s xD

R.I.P. My baby Sushi.

Despite my immediate treatment for the ich and constant water changes he must have had it in his gills long before I noticed the spot on his fin…… ;^;
It was nice knowing such a friendly little fish </3

So guys

……I kinda want one of those awesomely evil-looking new furbys(furbies?).

They’re so cute and nostalgic and evil-looking ;^;

I loved my original furby but my little brother threw it against a wall when I was like 11 and it started making demon noises and broke. Sad day.

In the journalism room back in high school there was a furby that everyone was afraid of and I used to go around before everyone else got there hiding it in random cabinets, positioned to stare at anyone who opened it. It was fantastic.

I love creepy toys :’3

So Pokemon B/W2 is coming out this weekend…

SO EXCITED. I preordered B2 to be delivered to my dorm in the next week so I don’t have to go out and find a place to buy it (still new enough to my new city that idk where Gamestop is), so it won’t be here until probably Wednesday… but it will be here eventually so I CONTINUE TO BE EXCITED.

And I love Rosa as her translated name :D It’s so… cute and pretty! Of course I’ll be naming the protag after my character but…. still cute C:

Idk what my team will be but in a few weeks if anyone wants to have a lvl 40~ battle or wanna trade or something then just send me a message. I’ll find wifi somewhere around here x’D

__

Also… funny story about preordering it from Walmart. Since it’s not released yet, the website had no ratings so when I went to check out it automatically labeled it as mature and wanted to make sure I was 17 in order to buy my pokemon game. I knew nintendo was shaking it up with this whole plot-continuation thing but.. xD there must be a lot of changes to make it have an M rating…. ;3

Actually, that can be explained with ~SCIENCE~
The sketchiness of line art mimics the natural lack of clarity in our peripheral vision. When we look at the real world, our high definition fovea can only focus on a small area at a time. By having a very clean line art, it creates the unnatural feel of high clarity over a large area that’s not possible when we look at real life, therefore line art tends to appear stiff and not as appealing as the sketch. This sketichiness technique was first utilized by impressionists to create an optical illusion of motion (along with other techniques like equiluminance).

Fuck me, I KNEW there was a reason! FUCK YOU, SCIENCE, YOU ASSHOLE

EVERYTHING CAN BE EXPLAINED WITH SCIENCE

SCIENCE! WHAT CAN’T IT DO!

((Haha, I knew there was a reason I hated inking over my sketches so much. I just prefer the nice organic feel of somewhat-messy pencil lines over super-clean, crisp lineart. Thank you, science. :D <3 ))

Well, I was attacked by a bat and get teased for being a ‘werebat’ now, so I might as well make Silvie one too :B Fufufu it shall be fun to draw in my comic-thing. So… have a creepy Silvie during an eclipse. Apparently you’re peeking at her through a fence…….. and she looks like she’s about to go hunt something. idk why, since her bat species is a flying fox that primarily eats fruits… But yeah. GUARD YOUR FRUITS OR ELSE WERESILVIE WILL STEAL THEM. Muahaha. Woohoo art!
